A theme for Firefox 2 modeled after Windows Vista Explorer. As of yet it is in no way a complete theme; A rough less-complete beta version (0.42) was released earlier by =solidfilter, so I'm releasing all beta versions of this theme.
For older versions: See my scraps gallery for an archive of older versions.
//VERSION 0.50:
-Text colors for menubar, statusbar, and bookmarks toolbar changed
-Options dialog box icons changed
-Tabs changed (text is now embossed as well)
-as of April 28 the theme will show as 0.50 in the Themes window
// VERSION 0.45:
- Nav-bar background now a blue-to-green gradient
- Menubar and Statusbar have a pseudo-aero look
- Bookmark toolbar items spaced further apart
- Back and Forward buttons are embossed by a transparent background that will look good regardless of its location on the toolbar
This is very nice. If I may make a few suggestions:
-Perhaps replace the default throbber with the IE7 version?
-If you can, skin the extenstion, download, and bookmark buttons for those who use the all-in-one-sidebar?
-Add a set of icons for the "small icons" mode for customizing toolbars?
Many thanks. The answers are yes, if I can, and yes. There are many things that still need to be done to this theme. You brought up an interesting point with the all-in-one sidebar idea, I never thought about it. Extension skinning and compatibility is probably going to be one of the last things I do, if I can figure out how to do it. But eventually I'll do as much as I can to make the theme work well and look great with extensions.
I love it! It's nearly perfect! I would like to see some "mouse over" reaction with the icons/links on the bookmarks toolbar, but other than than, this is the best Vista/IE 7 theme yet!
